lyrics
I took a leaf out of my book
to replace it with your own.
Though the morals were the same,
something had changed.
There was no compromising
the sense of perspective arising.
The feeling of urgency subsiding in haste.
So I return your courtesy
and offer you a conclusion.
Lay the pages where you will,
for the book is yours.
And yours alone.
Imagine you're on an Island,
covered in beauty and excitement
Searching for harmony with spade in hand.
You notice the steam on the horizon,
Turn and wave, and suddenly you're boarding.
Harbouring the fruits you gathered in those years.
And it feels like you're losing, but it doesn't have to be.
I won't pretend to understand, but I will say this;
With the close of this chapter, a new one will begin.
It doesn't have to be The End.
So I leave you on your ship, still aspiring to be great.
Put your eyes on the horizon and sail on.
